Situated in Ramsgate, Sydney NSW, this is the area’s first and only Organic Foodies Market, selling the best quality, tastiest, most nutritious produce available to you.
Open every Saturday from 08:00am to 2:00pm, this totally unique Market provides an extensive and complete range of the freshest, absolutely straight from the farm, (and interstate) vegetables and fruit.
We also specialise in preserves, oils, artisan goods and much, much more.
Launched in July 2008, the Organic Foodies Market in Ramsgate now takes place every Saturday, providing accessibility and convenience to everyone looking to buy great quality produce as part of their regular weekly shop. The Ramsgate Organic Foodies Market is proud to serve as a platform and channel for small producers and traders to sell and promote their products and so support these important small businesses. Each producer is carefully selected so that the market showcases some of the best food and drink you will find in Sydney, made by people who really care about what they do and helping to promote great quality, sustainably and ethically produced food.
Our efforts in 2012 were recognised by the community and the Rockdale City Council, where the markets received the prestigious Business of the Year Award. The markets have made appearances in several well known TV shows including My Kitchen Rules and we are constantly published as fresh food suppliers for restaurants and whole food distributers. Organic agriculture is a production method that emphasizes the use of renewable resources and the conservation of soil and water to enhance environmental quality.
Organic food products are produced using:
– Agricultural management practices that promote healthy eco-systems and prohibit the use of genetically engineered seeds or crops, sewage, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides.
– Livestock management practices that promote healthy, humanely treated animals by providing organically-grown feed, fresh air and outdoor access – using no antibiotics or growth hormones.
– Food processing practices that protect the integrity of the organic product and disallow irradiation, genetically modified ingredients (GMOs) or synthetic preservatives.
– Furthermore, there is strong evidence to prove that:
Organic products meet the most stringent standards
Organic food tastes great, reduces health risks and several deseases
Organic farmers build healthy soil with natural fertilisers
Organic farmers work in harmony with nature and respect our water resources
Organic producers are leaders in innovative research and strive to preserve diversity
